Facility use: Membership includes use of the following areas of the facility: roped climbing areas, boulder room, outside boulder park (when open), training areas, adventure village, and weight room. Children of members must be included on the membership to use the gym, otherwise day use fees apply. Certain areas of the gym are subject to restricted use due to group reservations and classes.
Discounts: Members receive 10% off all retail items, excluding sale items, food, and beverages. Members receive free or discounted pricing on classes and special events.
Guest privileges: Each enrollee on a membership has access to 1 guest pass per month. Guest passes must be used within the month they are allocated; guest passes cannot be saved and rolled over to future months. Guest passes do not include equipment rental. Your guests must be signed in at the front counter prior to climbing and cannot have used a guest pass from another member already that month.
CA Climbing Gym Coalition access: As a member of Granite Arch you are entitled to two (2) free day passes per month to any climbing gym within the Coalition. See our website for details.
Dues processed: Membership dues are processed on the 1st of each month by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) or billing to your credit card. All EFT payments are managed by an outside company. In the event there are insufficient funds in your account, the EFT company will treat the transaction as a bounced check and a $10.00 fee will be added to the monthly amount owed by you. The EFT company will attempt to process your dues a maximum of three times. Each time there are insufficient funds it will result in a $10.00 penalty assessment (maximum of $30.00 for three attempts). If after the third attempt your account still has insufficient funds, you will be notified and your membership will be suspended until you pay all outstanding membership dues along with all penalty fees assessed by the EFT company.
Freeze: A membership freeze is allowed one (1) time per year and only for a maximum of two (2) billing periods. All freezes must begin on the first day of the month, but may be resumed on any day subject to payment of the pro-rated amount for the remaining portion of the month. To freeze your membership you must submit a freeze notice online or sign a freeze notice at Granite Arch on or before 5 days before the last day of the month preceding the 1st of the month you wish for the freeze to take effect.
Terminating membership: To terminate your membership, the primary member must submit a termination notice online, sign a termination form at Granite Arch, or otherwise notify Granite Arch in writing of your desire to terminate your membership (email to info@granitearch.com is acceptable). Your request to terminate must be received on or before 5 days preceding the last day of the month to become effective on the last day of that month. All outstanding membership dues and EFT penalty assessments must be paid at time of termination.
30-day grace period: If you terminate your membership or it is suspended due to non-payment, you will be given a thirty (30) day grace period in which to reinstate your membership with no processing fee (provided all past due amounts, including penalty assessments, are paid in the case of suspension for non-payment). After the thirty day period has expired, gym membership will require payment of the current posted processing fee.
Termination of membership by Granite Arch: Granite Arch reserves the right to terminate this membership agreement at any time, if in Granite Arch's sole opinion, the member or members of this agreement consistently violate the rules and recommendations for conduct while in the gym. The rules and recommendations have been established by Granite Arch for the benefit of all users of Granite Arch and are posted in the gym. They are also available in written form upon request for your reference.
Membership rate increase: Granite Arch reserves the right to increase membership rates at any time during the term of this agreement provided Granite Arch notifies you in writing at least sixty (60) days before rate increase is to take effect.
