Learn to Lead Climb
IMPORTANT: This is an advanced level class!

The first day (7:30am-10:30am Saturday) will introduce you to lead climbing and belaying in a gym environment. You will learn body positioning, clipping technique, proper lead belay technique, climber/belayer communication, rope management, and risk management.
On the second day (8:30am-11:30am Sunday) you will practice and polish the lead belay and clipping technique learned in Session 1 as well as practice taking lead falls. Almost the entire class is dedicated to climb time and hands-on practice.
To take this class, you must be:

Able to on-sight 5.9s in the gym and comfortably climb 5.10s

Top rope belay certified at Granite Arch

16+ years old
The two-part class is $150 for non-members and $100 for members. Granite Arch will provide lead ropes for the class, but does not provide any other gear.
Note: a class may be cancelled if fewer than 2 participants sign up. Each class is capped at 6 participants.
